Quality Assurance Through Specialty Services

Advanced Testing to Elevate System Performance

Room and Building Envelope Pressure Testing

Aero offers this test to measure the efficiency and air-tightness of a room or building.

Aero is capable of measuring the air-tightness level of room and building envelopes. Using a “blower door”, we pressurize the space to a specified range and are able to measure the amount of air leakage throughout the room/building.

As a result, we will be able to identify leakage problems, estimate infiltration rates, estimate efficiency losses, and certify construction integrity.

This testing is especially helpful for critical pressure areas, such as operating rooms, isolation rooms, and pharmacies. In this type of application, Aero personnel work to determine reasons why a room may not hold its pressure and provide corrective actions to solve the problem.

Indoor Air Quality Testing

Air quality is a major component to the comfort and health of everyone in a facility. Aero uses state of the art equipment to sample and report on what is in your air.

Ionization Testing

Air quality is a major component to the comfort and health of everyone in a facility. Aero uses state of the art equipment to sample and report on what is in your air.

LEED™ IAQ Testing Services

Aero can help develop a plan to test the indoor air quality of your new construction or existing building project to meet the requirements for LEED certification. Our approach can include pre-testing on larger projects, helping with scheduling of interior finishes to ensure the best testing environment, and assisting with corrective action for any failed points.

Problem Area Identification

Aero can react quickly when a facility occupant has a complaint and test the air quality and provide day of testing results in most cases. Aero’s experience in HVAC systems allows us to assist with identifying potential causes of IAQ issues and provide solutions. We also have the ability to test for specific TVOCs and mold through the use of an independent lab facility.

Typical Indoor Air Quality Testing Parameters

Thermal Imaging

From steam traps to electrical panels, Aero uses non-contact thermal imaging to find problems before they start.

Thermal Imaging Services Include
  1. Steam Trap Surveys
  2. Electrical Panel Surveys
  3. Predictive Maintenance Surveys
  4. Building Envelope Surveys
  5. Refrigerant Leak Surveys

Ask us how you can take advantage of the utility rebates available for Steam Trap and Compressed Air Leak surveys.

Ultrasonic Flow Testing

No ports? No problem. Will Aero’s full line of ultrasonic offerings we can read and trend the flow of all different types of fluids.

Ultrasonic flow testing is a way to read and verify fluid flow without direct fluid contact. It is useful for systems with no other ways for flow measurement such as balancing valves or pressure ports.

Aero is capable of utilizing our ultrasonic flow meter for one time readings, or data collection over a period of time. Our meters are also designed to withstand the elements, making it ideal for data collection in outdoor applications

System where ultrasonic is utilized:
  1. Process cooling
  2. Fuel Oil
  3. HVAC Water Systems
  4. Domestic Water System

Vibration Analysis and Dynamic Balancing

Vibration analysis is an excellent tool for your predictive maintenance needs. Normal equipment function causes natural vibration and frequencies. Our technicians can analyze these vibrations through sound testing and other methods to ensure your equipment is in the proper operating range. If it is out of tolerance, we can adjust and balance the equipment into proper tolerances.

We are capable of analyzing and dynamic balancing of all HVAC equipment – including, but not limited to:

  1. All Fan Types – Including Vane Axial Styles
  2. Air Handlers
  3. Rooftop Units
  4. Pumps
  5. Chillers

Steam Trap Survey

As steam travels throughout your system and cools in the process, it forms condensate within the steam piping and fixtures. An improperly functioning steam trap can have large negative effects on your systems’ performance and while potentially costing you thousands of dollars per year in the process!

Aero Building Solutions tests the functionality of your steam traps utilizing the latest technology. We use ultrasonic leak detection to listen for the steam traps to open and close, which can diagnose a trap as being failed open or failed closed. We also utilize thermal cameras to diagnose whether a steam trap has failed.

It is recommended to perform steam trap testing once a year to determine if they are functioning properly or not. Steam traps have a life expectancy of around 5-7 years, so this continuous monitoring and repair or replacement is crucial for the health of your building and in saving you energy. In many cases, the utility companies will pay for the survey to be performed.

Please reach out to Aero Building Solutions today to see if you qualify, and to schedule your steam trap survey.
